When they smashed the Windward Islands Volcanoes by 173 runs, a devastating spell from Akeem
Jordan spurred Barbados Pride to their first West Indies Super50 Cup victory.
From his
allotted 10 overs, Jordan grabbed five for 26 to make him a shoo-in for the Player-of-the-Match
award and lead the Pride's good defence of a goal of 287 in their fourth game of the Vivian
            Richards Cricket Ground tournament.
To achieve some hope of reaching the semi-finals and
a shot at playing for the championship, Pride needed to win this match, and they delivered on
            all fronts.
Justin Greaves scored the top score of 76, and Shamarh Brooks scored 61,
paving the way for a Pride total of 286 for eight after they were put into bat from their
            allocation of 50 overs.
Jordan followed up with a disciplined spell to be the pick of the
Pride's bowlers, fellow pacer Chemar Holder helped with two from 7.4 overs for 27 and left-arm
spinner Joshua Bishop snared two to complete the demolition for 33 from 10 overs.
Pride
now has four points, rising to fourth in the rankings ahead of home team Leeward Islands
Hurricanes at a + 0.579 higher net run rate.
However, Pride still has to defeat Jamaica
Scorpions in Saturday's fifth and final preliminary match at the CCG to reach the semis.
